Q: What is the age range of the students attending the Palisades Regional Academy?
A: The Palisades Regional Academy accepts students between the ages of 13 and 21.

Q: How is a student referred for placement at Palisades Regional Academy?
A: The Palisades Regional Academy accepts referrals from the Child Study Team of the school district in which the student resides.

Q: Is an interview required once the student is referred by the district?
A: An interview is required in all cases.

Q: Who pays the tuition for the student?
A: The school district in which the student resides pays the tuition.

Q: How is the student transported to Palisades Regional Academy, and who pays for the transportation?
A: The school district in which the student resides is responsible for providing and paying for the transportation.

Q: May a parent/guardian place a student privately?
A: A parent/guardian may place a student privately, but, in that case, the parent/guardian is responsible for tuition and transportation.

Q: Can a student earn a High School Diploma at the Palisades Regional Academy?
A: The Palisades Regional Academy offers a student the ability to earn high school credits that apply to his/her high school transcript. Upon completion of the district’s credit requirement for graduation, the student will receive his/her school district’s high school diploma.

Q: Does the Palisades Regional Academy provide counseling?
A: The Palisades Regional Academy provides counseling to all of our students on an individual and group basis by our certified school social workers and consulting clinical psychologist.

Q: Can families of students receive counseling?
A: Through our voluntary “Family Assistance Program” (FAP), families of students at the Palisades Regional Academy can receive counseling and life coaching assistance.

Q: Does the Palisades Regional Academy offer career education and transition services?
A: The Palisades Regional Academy Guidance Department provides transition services to all students as part of their IEP Transition Plan.

Q: Does the Palisades Regional Academy have an Extended School Year Program?
A: The Palisades Regional Academy conducts an Extended School Year program that is a blend of academic, social, and recreational experiences.
